We undertake a wide range of design in the domestic area, particularly in the sector of architecturally designed houses. These include:
- Building Inspection and Problem Solving
Inspection of existing buildings to solve structural problems, and or site problems which may be affecting their stability and tendency to crack. This area of work is generally problem solving of a particular issue of concern.
- Footing Design for New Residences and Additions
Footing designs are undertaken to AS2870 and the Mitchell method of analysis for concrete raft footing design.
For residences this may include steel beam or portal design, timber floor or roof beams or particular architectural features.
Retaining Walls
- Blockwalls with geogrid tiebacks which form an area of “reinforced earth”.
- Concrete sleeper and steel post walls, in concrete piers - an economical retaining wall solution.
- Crib wall systems in timber or concrete.
- Reinforced concrete or reinforced blockwork, which are larger walls more suited to areas including rock or cellars.
- Gabion walls - rock filled wire baskets, commonly used in rivers and creeks.
