Jetties

Jetties are structures located in the high energy surf zone, which try and appear transparent to the wave and current forces in the area. They are designed to extend to safer deep water from shore, generally used for vessel mooring or access.

Jetty designs, and wharf designs, may be timber, steel or concrete, and are generally driven piles with a load bearing superstructure over. They are always designed for the vertical load over, and the wave and current forces laterally. They may range from small private facilities to large commercial/industrial facilities for ships in excess of 100,000 tonne DWT. They may include cranes, towers, lighting, vessel fendering, or any particular requirement that you may have.

We have undertaken numerous designs for jetties and jetty expansions, including mooring dolphins, wharfs, fendering design, service boom provision etc, and each is a specialty design to suit your requirements.
