| Riiver flow measurement weirs are installed on some river courses and allow for remote monitoring or recording of river flows. This is done by installation of a "sharp V notch weir" across the river, and pressure monitoring equipment at the base of the weirs.
Our office has designed several such gauges for installation around the state, and these generally cater for:
- a wide range of flow conditions.
- fish bypass ladders to allow passage of migrating fish.
- limited upkeep and maintenance.
- The overflow capacity of the system in the case of a very large event.
The information from the weirs is collected and used by government departments for the ongoing management of the river systems.
