There’s nothing particularly special about an aircraft hangar – it’s typically a large building, with sliding and stacking doors on one end to allow the aircraft to move in and out as required.
At Aldinga Airport, however, the brief called for a series of hangars for light aircraft that allowed for quicker and easier aircraft access.
The Magryn & Associates solution was a series of 30m long by 5.5m high hydraulically actuated remote control swing doors on one side of each of the hangars.
